Key Cultivation Points
Spring open field cultivation sow from late February to mid-March; autumn greenhouse facility cultivation sow in mid-to-late July. Use nutrient cup seedling transplanting, plant spacing 1.0 m × 0.33 m, about 2000 plants per mu; apply heavy base fertilizer deeply, apply 3000-3500 kg decomposed farmyard manure, 50 kg calcium-magnesium phosphate fertilizer, 30 kg compound fertilizer, 20 kg potassium fertilizer per mu, mix with soil before transplanting. When plants reach 1 m, timely prune and guide vines, thin lateral branches. Harvest commercial fruits when warts are fully plump and skin is green to ensure quality and promote continuous fruit set, increasing yield. During bitter gourd growth, control diseases and pests such as epidemic disease, downy mildew, powdery mildew, aphids, mites, melon fruit fly, and root-knot nematodes.
