  III. Operating Environment:

  1. Working Power Supply: 380V ±10% 50HZ

  2. Ambient Temperature: —10℃~40℃

  3. The product should be placed in an environment free from gases, vapors, chemically deposited dust, dirt, or other explosive media that could seriously affect the insulation of the transformer.

  IV. Working Principle:

After connecting the working power supply, this series of products adjusts the output voltage of the voltage regulator to obtain the required high current for testing. The working principle diagram is as follows:

  V. Control Panel:

  1. Power Indicator Light: After connecting the power supply, turn on the air switch, and the power indicator light will illuminate.

  2. Current Rise ↑ Indicator Light: Press the current rise ↑ button, when the voltage regulator boosts voltage, this current rise ↑ indicator light will illuminate.

  3. Current Drop ↓ Indicator Light: Press the current drop ↓ button, when the voltage regulator reduces voltage, this current drop ↓ indicator light will illuminate.

  4. Zero Position Indicator Light: Press the stop button, after the voltage regulator returns to zero position, this indicator light will illuminate.

  5. Working Indicator Light: Press the start button, the working indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the current booster is energized and ready for current rise.

  6. Start Button: After the power control is connected to the power supply, the internal voltage regulator automatically returns to zero. Only after the zero adjustment indicator light illuminates, can you press the start button, and the working indicator light will illuminate.

  7. Range Conversion: When the test current is less than 1000A, point the range conversion switch arrow to 1000A. When the test current is between 1000A and 5000A, point the range conversion switch arrow to 5000A.

  8. Stop Button: During testing, if abnormal conditions occur or the test needs to be terminated for other reasons, press this button.

  VI. Usage Methods and Precautions:

  1. In the current generator control cabinet: connect the output terminals to the input terminals a and x of the current booster; connect the instrument terminals in the control cabinet to the instrument measurement terminals of the current booster.

  2. The transformer casing, operation console, and main unit must be properly grounded.

  3. Turn on the air switch inside the chassis, and the power indicator light will illuminate. The voltage regulator of the control console automatically adjusts to zero position, the zero adjustment indicator light illuminates, waiting for current rise. Set the test time (via time setting) and current (by rotating the current selection switch). Press the start button once, the working indicator light illuminates, indicating that the current booster is connected to the control power supply, then press the current rise ↑ button to start increasing current.

① The current rises from zero, and closely monitor the indication of the measuring instruments and the condition of the test object.

② This control console is semi-automatic. After setting the test time (via time setting), turn on the air switch, first press the start button, then press the current rise button until the required current is reached. It has functions such as manual current rise, current drop ↓, automatic timing, and automatic return to zero.

  4. Rotate the voltage regulator evenly clockwise, paying attention to the output current indication on the operation console until the required high current is reached. To ensure testing accuracy, a standard ammeter can be connected in series at the instrument terminals.

  5. During the test, if any abnormal phenomenon is found, immediately cut off the power supply, find out the cause, and then proceed with the test.

  6. After the test, the voltage regulator must be returned to zero, press the stop button to cut off the power supply, and then disconnect the working power supply before removing the test wiring to ensure safety.

  VII. Precautions:

  1. This equipment is designed for short-term or long-term operation. The duration of operation is determined by the percentage of the required current to the rated current (capacity). It is especially not allowed to operate continuously at more than 200% of the rated current to prevent overheating. The time is as follows:

Load Duty Cycle % Maximum Allowable Working Time (seconds) Three-Phase Current Error

  200 300 10%

  150 500 10%

  100 Continuous 10%

Note: Since this equipment operates under high current conditions, the impedance and geometric shape of the load must be identical; otherwise, the three-phase current error will be large.

  2. For newly installed transformers or those that have been unused for a long time, before operation, measure the insulation resistance between coils and between coils and ground using a 1500 megohm meter. Only when the resistance value is not lower than 0.5 megohm can it be used.

  3. During use, the current booster transformer and the operation console must be reliably grounded to ensure safety.

  4. During use, the current should be increased slowly and evenly, and avoid excessive vibration during handling.

  5. The contact surface between the voltage regulator and the carbon brush should be kept clean. If necessary, wipe it clean with cotton yarn dipped in 90% alcohol.

  6. This equipment should be stored indoors in a clean, ventilated, and dry place.
