Power frequency withstand voltage test device raises to the high voltage required for testing
The power frequency withstand voltage test device is professional equipment used to test the insulation performance of power equipment. By applying a power frequency AC voltage far higher than the rated working voltage of the equipment, it assesses the reliability and safety of its insulation materials and structures.
⚡ Working Principle and Core Components
The basic principle of this device is to smoothly adjust the input voltage through a voltage regulator, and then use the electromagnetic induction principle of the test transformer to raise the voltage to the high voltage level required for the test.
A complete power frequency withstand voltage test device usually consists of the following core components:
Test transformer: The core of the device, responsible for raising the low voltage (such as 220V/380V) to the high voltage required for the test (such as 50kV, 100kV, or even higher). According to the different insulation media, it is mainly divided into three types:
Oil-immersed type: Large capacity, good heat dissipation, suitable for high-power tests in fixed laboratories.
Dry type: Light weight, no oil leakage risk, easy to carry, suitable for on-site tests.
Gas-filled type: Filled with insulating gas such as SF6, small size, good insulation performance, and is the current mainstream trend.
Voltage regulation and control unit: Used to control and adjust the output voltage. Modern devices mostly use electric column-type voltage regulators or electronic voltage regulation, enabling smooth and precise voltage control. The control unit is usually equipped with a liquid crystal display, which can set target voltage, withstand voltage time, and other parameters, and achieve automatic voltage increase, timing, voltage decrease, and result judgment.
Measurement and protection system:
Measurement system: Accurately measures the actual high voltage value applied to the test object through methods such as a high-voltage divider.
Protection system: Includes multiple safety mechanisms such as overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, zero-position start, audible and visual alarm, and emergency stop, ensuring that the power can be quickly cut off in case of test object breakdown or equipment abnormality, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
