Working Principle:
Smart Capacitance and Inductance Tester Supplier, the transformer outputs 20V or 2V test voltage, which is connected to the two busbars of the capacitor bank through test leads. The busbar voltage is then introduced into the internal voltage detection circuit of the instrument through test leads. After being converted into digital signals by the A/D converter, the signals are sent to the CPU through isolation devices. The current of the capacitor under test Cx is sampled by a clamp-type CT and program-controlled amplification, then converted into digital signals by the A/D converter and sent to the CPU. The CPU processes the received digital signals, obtains the voltage U and capacitor current Ic, and then calculates the capacitance according to: Cx=Ic/ωU, where ω=2πf, f is the frequency.
Structure Description:
1. Smart Capacitance and Inductance Tester Supplier, is the current input - current signal input terminal. The test current signal cable is plugged into the "current input" input plug, and the other end is connected to the clamp meter.
2. It is the 25V/20A AC output terminal. One end of the test voltage cable is connected to the "voltage output" terminal, and the cable clamps at the other end are respectively clamped on the connecting busbars of the two poles of the capacitor bank under test; 3 is the 2V/20A AC output terminal. When testing reactors less than 5mH or resistors less than 1.25Ω, connect to the 2V voltage output terminal. For capacitor testing, directly use the 20V voltage;
Printer - prints test results, using 58mm wide thermal paper. When changing paper, open the paper compartment cover of the printer, insert the paper roll and leave a small part outside, then close the cover;
Power socket - connects to 220V mains. This socket contains a fuse. This instrument should be installed with a 5A fuse tube;
Keyboard - "↓" key moves the cursor down, or decreases the number when modifying digits;
"↑" key moves the cursor up, or increases the number when modifying digits;
"→" key moves the cursor right;
"Print" key - press this key to print test results;
"OK" key - press this key to confirm the operation;
"Reset" key - press this key to return to the previous menu;
Grounding terminal - during operation, this terminal must be reliably grounded;
Operating Instructions:
Measuring Capacitors
1. Connect one end of the test voltage cable to the "voltage output" 25V terminal, and the cable clamps at the other end are respectively clamped on the connecting busbars of the two poles of the capacitor bank under test
2. Plug the test current signal cable into the "current input" input plug, and the other end is connected to the clamp meter. Pay attention to the direction of the clamp meter jaws. The red clip of the voltage line and the front panel (with display) of the clamp ammeter are of the same polarity. If reversed, the positive and negative signs of the phase angle between measured voltage and current will be wrong, and the instrument cannot correctly identify whether the test object is capacitive or inductive;
4. Use the "↑" and "↓" keys together. The screen cycles through: Auto, Capacitance, Inductance, Resistance. Set the test object type. Usually, the default mode is used: Auto. The instrument will determine the test object type based on the phase difference between test voltage and current. In some cases, because the capacitance of the test object is too small (below the instrument's lower measurement limit), the instrument can accurately read the effective current value but cannot measure the phase angle, making it impossible to determine the test object type. In such cases, the user needs to manually set the test object type;
After setting the test object type, press the "→" key to move the cursor to "voltage level". Use the "↑" and "↓" keys together. The screen cycles through: 0.38/ kV, 6.6kV, 6.6/ kV, 10kV, 10/ kV, 11kV, 11/ kV, 12kV, 12/ kV, 35kV, 35/ kV. Selecting the voltage value is for calculating the kvar of the capacitor and does not affect the capacitance value;
After setting the appropriate voltage level, press the "→" key to move the cursor to "system number". Use the "↑" and "↓" keys together to modify the actual system number digit by digit. This is used for printing and saving data;
5. After setting "test object type" and "voltage level", press the "OK" key to enter the test.
The instrument collects voltage and current signals in real time, automatically calculates and displays the effective voltage value, effective current value, voltage frequency, and voltage-current phase angle (+ sign indicates current leads voltage, which is a capacitive test object; correspondingly, - sign indicates current lags voltage, which is an inductive test object). After multiple data collections, the instrument automatically calculates the results.
Based on the voltage-current phase angle, the instrument determines if it is a capacitive test object and calculates the capacitance (unit μF), impedance (capacitive reactance for capacitors, inductive reactance for inductors), and reactive power (unit kVar, corresponding to the set voltage level);
6. Press the "Print" key, and the instrument prints the test results
5.2 Measuring Reactors or Resistors
The instrument automatically identifies the test object type and calculates results according to the type, so the method for measuring reactors or resistors is the same as for capacitors.
Note: When testing reactors less than 5mH or resistors less than 1.25Ω, connect the voltage line to the 2V voltage output terminal.
