I. Overview
YDJ-5KVA/50KV High Voltage Test Transformer is a new generation product improved by our company based on the original TDM type test transformer. Compared with traditional test transformers, this series has the following characteristics:
1. In terms of insulation structure, according to the principle of "distance effect" of transformer oil, multi-layer insulation is adopted to divide the internal insulation of the transformer into multiple oil channels, thereby improving the insulation level and reducing the volume.
2. The oil leakage problem of TDM series transformers is solved. Since TDM series transformers have no oil conservator, when the temperature is too high, the oil expands and leaks from the oil nozzle. However, this series of products sets the oil filling hole at the top of the bushing, and the oil in the bushing is connected with the oil in the body. Therefore, in addition to the functions of installing silicon stacks, short-circuit rods, and cascade rods, this bushing also serves as the oil conservator of the transformer.
3. This series of products uses metal fixed leads and voltage equalization, thereby eliminating the discharge phenomenon.
4. The tank structure is compact, the appearance is novel, the volume is small, and the weight is light.
5. The iron core is a single-frame core type, made of DQ type 0.30mm cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets stacked, fastened with new special materials, replacing the traditional through-core screw. The coil is a concentric cylindrical, multi-layer tower structure.

III. Usage Methods and Precautions
1. Connect the working wires according to the wiring diagram. It must be noted that when using this test transformer, the "high voltage tail" must be reliably grounded.
2. Before connecting the power supply, the voltage regulator of the operation box (console) must be adjusted to zero. After the power is connected, the green indicator light is on. Press the start button, the red indicator light is on, indicating that the transformer is energized and waiting for voltage increase.
3. Rotate the voltage regulator handle clockwise uniformly at a speed of 1.5-2KV/S to increase the voltage, and closely pay attention to the instrument indications and the condition of the tested object. When the leakage current is too large or the tested object breaks down, the overcurrent protection relay will quickly cut off the power.
4. After the test, the voltage regulator should be adjusted to zero at a uniform speed.
5. If during the test the voltmeter pointer swings greatly, the ammeter indication value increases sharply, or the tested object smokes, arcs, has burnt smell and abnormal sound, the voltage should be immediately reduced, the power cut off, and the cause checked.
6. When using YD series products for DC tests, the silicon stack short-circuit rod (D) and the cascade tap wiring rod (C) in the high-voltage bushing must be loosened and pulled out, and wrapped with clean insulating paper. When performing AC voltage tests after DC tests, the two short-circuit rods must be screwed in.
7. For DC tests, current limiting resistors and filter capacitors should be added to prevent damage to the silicon stack.
8. Environment: When the temperature is too high, a small amount of oil may overflow from the top of the bushing, which is a normal phenomenon. When performing DC tests, if obvious corona appears on the inner wall of the bushing, it is generally a sign of low oil level. At this time, the short-circuit rod should be taken out, and qualified No. 25 transformer oil should be injected through its hole with a syringe.
9. When the test transformer is used in cascade, it must be noted that the output terminals (A), (X) of the operation box are correspondingly connected to the output terminals (a), (x) of the first test transformer. The output terminals (A, X) of the first test transformer are correspondingly connected to the input terminals (a), (x) of the test transformer on the second JT1. In addition, its shell should be connected to the primary transformer input. The input terminals (a), (x) of the test transformer on the third JT2 are connected to the output terminals (A), (X) at the top of the bushing of the test transformer on the second JT1.
