The DC resistance of a transformer is a mandatory test item for semi-finished and finished products during manufacturing, factory acceptance tests, installation, major overhauls, after changing tap changers, handover tests, and preventive tests by power departments. It can check the welding quality of winding connections and whether there are inter-turn short circuits in the windings. It can also detect whether the contacts at various positions of the voltage tap changer are in good condition, whether the actual position of the tap changer matches the indicated position, whether the lead wires are broken, and whether there are broken strands in multi-strand parallel windings.
